Ahmad Aweidah is the Chief Executive Officer of the Palestine Exchange (PEX) since June 2008. His strategic vision is to position the PEX on the world's investment map through conducting regional and international road shows to promote investment in Palestine in general and in the Palestinian companies listed on the PEX in specific by marketing the success stories of these companies. The PEX promotional road shows target investment funds interested in frontier markets, as well as Palestinian Diaspora communities to encourage them to invest in their homeland. He plays a leading role in fostering the PEX as one of the pioneer institutions in the development of an independent national economy.
Before joining the PEX, Aweidah held leading positions in private sector institutions; he was VP Commercial and Operations (2005-2008) at PalTel Group- the primary telecom operator in Palestine. Before that, he was VP Head of Retail Banking (2002-2005) at the Arab Bank- the largest bank in Palestine- and other positions in the field of banking, marketing and telecom during the years 1995-2002 in Palestine and France.
Aweidah’s core professional skills include setting and driving strategy, leadership and mentoring. He enjoys strong sales, marketing, customer service, management and business development skills. He also has extensive experience in the design, planning and roll out of new products and services.
Aweidah obtained excellent multi cultural and interpersonal skills through studying, living and working in the UK, France and the Middle East. He also masters three languages; Arabic, English and French. Aweidah holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from The University of St. Andrews, Scotland UK.
